I had expected that most of my time spent at BEA would be sitting in on panel discussions, scribbling notes and reporting back here what I learned. Well, I think I learned a few things, but I didn’t manage to go to any panels. I arrived at one panel (where Laila was reading from her forthcoming book) as it was ending because I wasn’t aware the time had been changed. The others I went to were overcrowded and I didn’t have the patience to stand outside the door, peering over other people’s heads.
