Chekhov's Mistress
by Bud Parr
I’ve posted the pics I took at the Brooklyn Festival of the Book in my
Flickr account. Didn’t take many photos though, and no video this year, owing to general exhaustion on my part. But it was a beautiful day and I met
Jonathan Lethem – I told him I saw his kitchen in
Edible Brooklyn (a local foodie mag that features notable kitchens or kitchens of notables). I’m sure most people would have said something literary or smart instead of “hey, I saw your kitchen!” but that’s me.
It looks like the Festival was pretty popular with one publisher saying that they sold nearly every book they brought. I never managed to go to any of the events, but it was fun roaming around all the books and book people – bunch of my favorite presses were there, including Coffee House, Melville House, Archipelago, and New Directions among others.
