You all know the feeling, don’t you. Every word you set down on paper looks like trash, you question your ability to write and therefore your very existence and you blame it on the weather or the fact that your toddler has taken to biting or you’re just not getting enough sleep.
Who knows; I hope it passes, but I’m just not in the mood to be at this party and unless things change I’ll just plan on coming back fresh in September, or maybe now that I’ve finally capitulated to my mediocrity I’ll get this chunky monkey off my back ben and jerry. In the mean time, here’s where I’ll be spending my blogging time:

Don’t despair, Bud. We’ll be waiting for you. Meanwhile, the sun-dappled book looks better than a swimming pool. (And *thanks* many times for the boom yesterday--I’m still blushing.)

Seems the ideal reading material, Bud: “In a Budding Grove” (sorry for noting the altogether unintended pun ["He who would pun would pick a pocket”, quoth a character I greatly enjoy.])
More seriously: sometimes the language & imagination reservoir needs refilling, and what better nourishment than the fine writing you’ve chosen. Enjoy.

It’ll do you much good. I recently spent all day with a book (imagine that!)--only took breaks to eat and didn’t touch the computer once. I’d almost forgotten how great that felt.
You’ll be missed in the interim, but enjoy every minute you’re away.
(And thanks for the peek over your shoulder--what a great view!)

There is nothing like reading to inspire writing. And from the image, we can tell that the creative spirit has not left the building, just refocused.

No better place--you could do worse than to hunker head down, and not look up until you come out the other end of that word-tunnel, 6 books later.
