In the Echos of the Drumroll: Litblog Co-op Announces Read This! Pick

by Bud Parr

SCMZZZZZZZ.jpg” />Okay, so rainy days and Mondays always keep me from blogging, so I’m behind everyone else in announcing the latest Litblog Co-op pick, Kate Atkinson’s Case Histories.

Lizzie Skurnick (aka The Old Hag), the nominator of Case Histories, describes Atkinson’s writing, saying:

Each paragraph, each page, each chapter unfolds with perfect precision, the prose and pacing fully shaped. There’s nothing flowery about the words, but no stripped-down drama either. Atkinson’s a pro – a juicy pro.

I will refrain from writing about the Case Histories until after Reading the World is over at the end of May because I want to spend some time commenting on those fantastic international titles, and the Book Expo America conference the first weekend in June, where I will be avidly blogging. (and as always, we have 400 Windmills)

Widely commented on, the announcement of the Read This! pick has 58 comments (with the exception of one person promoting a site that has nothing to do with the pick, which is just spam in my opinion), with some critical of the LBC choosing a book that has been reviewed in the mainstream media. I can only say, lighten up folks!
