I don’t think so Bud. For many of us less techie types it suits me well to keep track of what’s updated as well as links to many other sites. I haven’t caught onto using bloglines or similar rss feeds either as I prefer to click through the sites as they update. Old school I know but it works for me.

It’s funny to think of clicking through your blogroll to be old school, but you’re right and I’m glad to hear it. My post was partly in context of thinking about blog design and what is and isn’t important - and one thing I’ve noticed is that any given community is growing so large (eg nearly 400 members at MetaxuCafe) that there’s no room to accommodate them on a site’s sidebar.
