I’m not really posting events these days, but there’s one thing I have to mention because I’m sure it will be Amazing, with a capital A. Anna Deavere Smith’s new one-woman play, Let Me Down Easy, will be premiering at The Public Theater next June – now’s the time to order subscriptions.
From the Public’s Website:
In a society where human interactions are devalued, what is happening to our physical selves? What about our conversations with doctors and the medical profession at large? Is everything ultimately dictated by commerce? How do our bodies live? How do they die? How are the bodies of athletes, models, bull riders, trapeze artists, soldiers – in fact, the bodies of doctors, nurses and insurance adjusters themselves – put to work? An exciting new piece from the performer and writer of Fires in the Mirror, Twilight, Los Angeles : 1992; and House Arrest.
