Barnes and Noble – Union Square
New York Review Books offers a different kind of classic, books that readers may not have heard of but are sure never to forget, introduced by some of today’s finest writers. This spring, New York Review Classics will publish its 150th title: Booker Prize-winning novelist J. G. Farrell’s The Singapore Grip. To celebrate the series and its remarkable range, authors John Banville will read from Farrell Empire Trilogy (Troubles, The Siege of Krishnapur, and The Singapore Grip); Deborah Eisenberg from Dorothy Baker’s tragi-comic California family romance Cassandra at the Wedding; and Jonathan Lethem from prison novelist Malcolm Braly’s masterpiece On the Yard. NYRB Classics series editor Edwin Frank will introduce the evening.
