The Man Booker Prize has been announced and John Banville won. The “People” have chosen Kazuo Ishiguro who pulled well ahead of Julian Barnes and everyone else with 498 votes versus Barnes’ second place at 429 votes. Banville had 181 people’s votes.]

I can’t say I’m disappointed. While I enjoyed Never Let Me Go hugely, I can’t help but let a little patriotic pride creep in at Banville’s win.
