Party Fodder: Five things About Me You May Not Know
Peggy tagged me for this meme and I thought, ‘now here’s some ice-breaking material for tonight’s MetaxuCafé gathering,’ so here goes, in order, presumably, of boringness:
1) I don’t watch television (except the second-hand smoke of noggin and various pixar/disney flix owing to my constant proximity to a 3yr old). If every day had 72 hours and we lived to be hundreds of years old, I might find the time for it, but there always seems to be something better to do.
2) I am a terrible athlete. Generally speaking, if a sport has a ball in it, I’m bad at it. Same goes for dancing, high-wire acts and juggling. Just terribly uncoordinated.
3) I nearly flunked out of high school. Partly from being a truant, partly from just being a very bad student. I repented and went to college and grad school at night for about 15 years all total and got A’s and B’s there. Still, I have to say I’ve learned more from reading, writing, traveling and just being in the world than from any institution.
4) I got caught shoplifting The Eagles’ Hotel California when I was 12. I got my karmic balance by turning in a shoplifter I saw once at The Gap.
5) I’ve driven at over 155 m.ph. I’ve had a lot of tickets in my life. Now mostly for parking though.
And of course, I do have plenty of stories to tell…
