I saw the paperback edition yesterday when I dashed into the University of Toronto bookstore to pick up a book I’d ordered, and gave the book a heft: much lighter. It’s tempting to buy a more portable copy, but as my book expenses this month are too staggering to contemplate, I’ll stick with the weightier DQ and my late-night rendez-vous with it. Perhaps the paper edition will entice more people to buy—and read—this book, which becomes ever more engaging as one proceeds into the world of The Knight of the Sorrowful Face.

Later this morning I’ll write something on this site about “reading” Don Quixote (in contrast to simply extolling its virtues based on its reputation), in response to the article in the current Times Literary Supplement, which Scott noticed.
