About two years ago, The Complete Review wrote a report on the state of literary blogs. They’ve since been updating the report with links to the “best” lit blogs, “worthwhile” blogs, and distantly last, “other” blogs.
Now, I don’t expect to be among the “best” lit blogs in the world; I’ll leave that to the truly obsessed. I don’t even mind so much not being on the list of “worthwhile” lit blogs, as long as I am on the list somewhere (for the sake of editorial honesty, I emailed CR when I started my blog to tell them that I existed).
So with a bit of shameless self-promotion, yours truly, Chekhov’s Mistress is on the “other” list as of September 10th. The way I feel can best be expressed by recalling Navin’s reaction upon finding his name in the phone book for the first time (Steve Martin Fans? The Jerk).
The new phone book’s here! The new phone book’s here! This is the kind of spontaneous publicity I need. My name in print. That really makes somebody. Things are going to start happening to me now.
Of course, that was just before the crazed assassin found it too.
