When Persistence Doesn’t Pay: A Note To Bloggers Readers and Spammers

by Bud Parr

You may or may not know this, but when you comment at a blog and leave your URL, it counts toward your search engine ranking. Some people see this as a shortcut to upping their rankings and circulation. They leave comments that either don’t have anything to do with the topic and/or promote themselves. That’s not part of the conversation and it’s not appreciated.

Don’t do it here.

I will delete you first; do it again, I will ban your IP address; do it a third time and I will submit you to SixApart’s Blacklist. Or if I’m in a bad mood, which is often when I don’t get enough sleep, I’ll just skip to the third step (read more about comment spam at SixApart’s faqs).

If you want to let me know about you, send an email. I read them.

Thank you and have a nice day.
